Sig P225

Does anyone here know if the Sig P225 Barrel and P228/P229 barrel are compatible or not?

I read somewhere that the P226 barrel can be modified to fit a P225.

Reason I ask is I dont have 12.6, but wish to purchase a P225 and add a extended threaded barrel.

my view, don;t know but all other parts are not interchangeable

the 226 barrel cannot fit into the 225. I just tried. The 226 is bigger.

Now. I have a 228 and the barrel is extremely close to fitting into my 225. Something a gunsmith should be able to do correctly. It comes down to fitting, the extractor is a bit tight and could be in the way of proper lock up. But It should be doable.

SIG says they are not interchangable. You risk destroying a barrel at best and a pistol in the worst case.
