Does anyone know where in Canada I can buy the conversion barrel to convert my Sig P226 40 cal to 9 mm. I see they are available in the US. This allows you to just change out the barrels with out have to get the full x change kit

I know the 9mm and 40 use a different recoil spring, so be careful. 40 magazine would probably feed 9mm (depending on which one you have).

I believe Questar and possibly a few other sponsor companies do sell the aftermarket barrel conversions. Or they used to.

Your are best to purchase the full kit, as the breech face is specific to 9mm and 40. As mentioned, the recoil spring is also different.

That's the route I would go, complete slide including mags. Aftermarket barrel would have to be fitted and the recoil spring changed. Have read .40 mags feed 9 ok. Changing out barrel only may lead to dissimilar wear characteristics between the two barrels and slide, leading to an eventual sloppy fit, which would effect accuracy.

That's just my opinion, I'm a picky bastard anyway.

Cannot seem to find the full 9mm kit on Vancouver island. Can you tell me what dealer in BC may have one

The Xchange kits are hit and miss. Sometimes they come in stock somewhere and they sell fast... They're pretty awesome, you have another caliber in seconds.
