Just picked up a Sig P226 X5 and the mags sit very flush in the mag well. In some of the pics on the net, the mags are pictured with a metal or chrome extension on the end of the mag, that would make them much easier to load/unload. Does anybody know where I guy could buy these in Canada? Thanks..

I am interested in this as well. I have a Sig p229 and wish the grip was a little longer. An extension on the mag may do the trick. On another note, I have been waiting 5 months! for a few extra mags for my Sig. It is getting ridiculous.

I have never seen base plates or pads available during my search. I saw questar has some sig hicap mags with baseplates but I'm reluctant to make a purchase due to not knowing when I may get them. They also haven't got back to me to wether it is a checkmate or mecgars...let me know if u find anything. Gd luck

Those Questar mags look like the ticket but.....it's crazy the prices for a magazine!!! All I need is a 5$ rubber or cheap metal base pad....
I'm almost tempted to try and order an expensive metal base pad out of the states, if they'll ship it to me, and go to a fabrication shop, and get them to copy it.......

Sig 228 / 229 pistols can take 226 magazines, they just stick out the bottom of the shorter grip a bit; they're the same pistol, except with a bit of concealability factor. (In the U.S.A. the extra length means a couple more rounds, too.) If you use a 226 mag. you can fashion some kind of filler for the gap, maybe form up some epoxy putty there. However, there is a ready-made product for this purpose, from X-Grips [dotcom].

Problem is, the distributors they list almost universally don't ship internationally. Brownell's has a couple of their products, but not this one. Also a few eBay sellers and Amazon .com, but nobody is shipping to Canada. If you can find them here, or a store that will ship, that's what you need.

It's just a rubbery bit that slides over the existing magazine floor plate; I don't know if it's ITAR -controlled for export.

If you have mecar mags the mecar rubber base pad would fit. Its also used on beretta 92 series. Assuming you can get them shipped here...
