I was looking at picking up a Sig P226 in .22. Anybody have any experience with one of these? Any good? Was going to pick up the 9mm conversion down the road.

There seems to be two models. One regular and one with an extended beaver tail. One company says on here the one with the beaver tail has a SRT trigger on it but I haven't seen that mentioned anywhere else.

My friend has a "regular" as you describe it, and it is a great little pistol. For whatever reason it is cheaper to buy the .22 then get the 9mm conversion. The SRT trigger is a huge improvement, so I would research that angle further.

The best .22 pistol on the market in my opinion but I love the Sig platform. SRT trigger is worth it, but some do not like the beavertail. I like both.

If you post this in the Pistols section you'll get more replies.

Phat Eagle, maybe I should have used the term "standard" as opposed to "regular"... lol. I couldn't think of the right word at the time.

st1264... thanks for the advice... going to post right now in the pistol forum.

Do either of you guys know that the bear tail models all come with the SRT?

My beaver tail certainly doesn't, but I've had since 2011 and I don't think the SRT was even available then. I like it. Broke it in with a couple boxes of Mini-mags, now it consumes the Federal bulk and/or Winchester bulk stuff just fine. Doesn't seem to like feeding the lead round nose stuff though.
