Anybody who owned both has any opinion or comparing thoughts?

I have p226. I like the look of the gun and how it works. I like hammer release lever. What I don't really like is the hard pull on DA and grips a kind of wide. All metal frame feels great too.

However, how is it comparing to p320? How's accuracy. Is it more compact? Annoyances?

I have owned and work with 226 platform and tried the 320 (300 rounds) good pistol overal, lighter than the 226 obviously and being used to working with the decocker it felt weird not to have it.

Trigger wise, you still have a long "heavy" pull for first shot and then you work with trigger reset.

If you have a P226, dont trade it for a P320

I have had both, sold the 320 and still have the 226. Thought I could warm to a polymer Sig, but just never seemed to feel quite right. Is a decent pistol, just not for me as I prefer all metal.

To me the perk of having a modular pistol like the P320 is lost in Canada where we only get a fraction of the options.

More often than not you buy the full size and that's all you get.

I have owned both and now I just own the 320.

A lot has to do with personal preferences so if you get a chance to try one that will be the only way that you will be able to decide if you like it or not.

I am fond of both. If I had to pick, I would pick the P226.

If you don’t like the DA/SA P226, try an SAO version.

Have you tried a P220? Single stack .45 with thinner grips, also available in SAO.

They are quite different guns---the P320 is closer to a Glock or M&P than a P226. I like the P320 a lot--very comfortable grip that yup can easily swap for a smaller or larger one. Trigger pull is good, too and an Apex trigger makes it even better. My last one (which I sold to my Dad since he liked it so much) had Trijicon HD sights which were great for my eyesight issues.

I've got a P226 Legion that I really enjoy shooting as well but it's a very different pistol.

Well if you don't like the DA on the 226 you won't like the DA 320...
The P320 is not a DA/SA pistol, it's striker-fired.

I Shot p226 for years, ipsc and defensive class. I still have 2 of them that I will never sell. The p226 is still a good platform but compared to the modern striker fired pistol, it's not what it used to be. the p320 is a stupid simple design, easy and cheaper to maintain. Shoots very flat despite the high bore axis. Better trigger pull and no decocker. On top of it, it's less expensive. If you want a p320, get one, it's a great pistol even if it doesn't have the features of the p226.

I like both. I own the 226 and have tried the 320. If I was going to buy a polymer handgun I would get the 320. Both are accurate, my 226 has the srt trigger so both have good triggers although the double action is heavy. I find little difference in practical weight. The 320 has a slightly longer barrel. There is little muzzle flip for a plastic gun and of all the striker fired guns I have tried the 320 has the best trigger. I find the grip of the 320 fits me well. My 226 has been rock solid reliable. I can't really speak to the reliability of the 320 but certainly no trouble at all when I was shooting one. If I was starting out I would probably get the 320 It is a lot cheaper than my version of the 226 and from my experience performs just as well.
