Wondering if it's possible to convert a Sig P229 chambered in 40 S&W to 9mm. Is it a simple barrel swap? Or do springs and other parts need to be replaced? Full slide?

Where could I buy a conversion kit?

You just need a 9mm barrel, don't need a new slide or springs. Back when I used to own a 229 few years back I got a barrel for around $150.I have no idea what they cost now.
You can also use the 40 magazines, they will typically hold 12-13 9mm rounds (legally). I had no feed problems using the 40 sig magazines

From what I read barrel and optionally recoil spring. In some cases barrel needs slight fitment, which some have encountered particularly with barsto barrels. Don't forget 106mm is the legal length, if Questar too pricey irunguns might be able to bring one in for you.

There are various ways of doing it, but it depends on what frame you've got, the newer 9mm P229s use the same frame as the .40 P229 but the older guns use the P228 frame. The difference being the width of the magazine well.

With the older guns there are companies that made 9mm barrels for the .40, basically you just hope the rounds stay in the magazine and the barrel has a smaller hole down the middle.

But now... with the newer guns you can buy a new slide and barrel and magazine and do it properly! Only $600! Why bother...
