Sig P229 nayone sell them with restricted barrels?

Yes. Lots of options… I'm surprised you haven't found one… There are ones with threaded barrels or with larger fixed barrels. Questar, Target Sports (presuming your in the GTA region), Williams Arms, etc… Take a look around!

Can anyone help me understand the different models of sig p229? I'd like a. 40sw but how is recoil, was not a fan of the Glock 22 recoil with. 40sw. Also I shoot mostly 9mm so should I keep all the same calibre?

Sig's in 40 S&W are very snappy, and I don't enjoy shooting them at all, while the 9mm is much more pleasant.

Definitely go with 9mm especially if you already shoot it.

40 S&W is a useless cartridge for punching paper, and will only cost you more.

The 9mm is very easy to shoot and very accurate and of course a little cheaper to shoot as well. That being said I have both and the .40 is a little "snappier" but quite manageable. If you have already tried one in 9mm and liked it that is probably the way to go.

I just rented a Sig 229 in 9mm this evening at the range. I may need to get myself one! Nice pistol!

Chizzy

Got one in 9, got about 700 rounds through, flawless. Mine has the 106mm barrel as opposed to the threaded(my barrel sticks out about a quarter inch). If you go 40 you may want to consider the stainless(heavier = less recoil), good luck finding one.

Mine is like this one: The P229 Two Tone Stainless.

Being as the 229 is a prohib when it doesn't have the extended barrel, we are limited to the ones that we can get. Equinox, two tone and the basic model are the easiest to get. Try them first if you can. I have both 9mm and 40. Don't notice a huge difference between them. 40 is not uncomfortable to shoot but 9 is cheaper
