Sig P229R .40 S&W: Questions

Just ordered a new Sig P229 .40 S&W and have a couple of questions for those who own the pistol.

1) Tried to order two 10 round magazines from Brownells and got the:
" SIR, HAVE CANCELED YOUR ORDER DUE TO DDTC RESTRICTIONS."

Why are 10 round P229 magazines restricted for export from the USA? i have bought 1911 magazines from Brownells with no problem.

2) Has anyone tried a .357 Sig barrel in their .40 S&W P229? Which one did you get? How was installation and function?
