The P239® Tactical is the same pistol that was developed in response to demands from law enforcement and federal agents for a compact back-up pistol ideal for off duty concealed carry. Only this one comes with a threaded barrel, front cocking serrations on the slide, and the SRT Trigger System. The SRT (Short Reset Trigger) is designed to provide you the same great safety and smooth action of the SIG DA/SA with a comfortable reset that is 60% shorter for faster trigger return and surgical control during high speed shooting. The slim profile of this single-stack pistol provides easy concealment without sacrificing handling. The excellent characteristics of the P239 are the result of “performance engineering” and it’s one of the keys to all SIG SAUER® pistols. The P239 tactical is available in 9mm.

Normally this is stocked at Al Flahartys and Questar, however neither have it right now. So my friends, I have three questions. Has anyone here had one, how do you like it, and who has it in stock right now.

It reminds me of the ppk only in 9mm and right now I'm digging the Bond movies. I've held a P239 years ago and the desire to have one has stayed with me ever since. I have exhausted all of googles usefulness.

I'm sorry but I just can't get used to seeing guns with the barrel sticking out from the slide like that. I'm sure it's a wonderful gun with cutting edge technology but it would drive me crazy everytime I looked at it. I couldn't own one but good luck with your search.

I own one. It is my favorite handgun. Fits my hand better than any other gun I own (granted, I have relatively small hands).

Check the EE regularly.

Yep...the EE may surprise you. It seems like certain brands or types of guns run in cycles. Just keep your eye out.

Another thought....you could always post a WTB on the EE

Well, I have an NP-34...the Norinco clone of the P239. I like it so much I may find myself in the market for a P239 myself...in .40S&W, preferably.

I have big hands and I find a full-size Sig P226/227 is quite manageable but I also love compact pistols, so I understand the passion. Yeah, the protruding muzzle is a bit of a disappointment, but really, it makes no difference to the way the gun feels or handles.

Good luck with finding one...I've noticed that all kinds of guns, even less common ones, pop up there regularly so just be patient.

There is just something about those compacts that make them so attractive! I've got a glock 19, 26 and a sig p229 right now. I'd love to get my hands on this little guy.
You guys can be sure I am keeping my eyes open looking for this. I'll update with pictures if I find one!

Check with MD Charlton, They are one of two distributors for Sig in Canada.Im sure they can give you an Eta then you can order through a dealer of your choice.

I had one, sold it.

Nice gun but I didn't like the high bore axis. Had a lot of snap due to this.

Also found it had a bit to much "rattle" for a $1000+ gun (it was 100% reliable with the few rounds I put through it).

The grip is nice and thin but I have big mits.

Sold it to buy a Glock 19.

I'm a big fan. I have two P239 pistols, one German, one American. No difference I can tell. I have many more Glocks than SIGs, but the compact SIGs are my favorites. P225, P239, P228, P229. I may need a P239 in .40/.357 SIG, since I have mags for it...

Great compact pistol. Had one, loved it but needed to sell something to pay for another purchase. Regretted doing so. If you can find one, pick it up if you like Sig's. Well behaved for a compact 9mm pistol and well made... wish I had kept it. Night sights, fantastic SA trigger (like all Sig's), compact grip but not too small for those with big hands like me... oh well.

As of right now I am narrowing my search. I've only found used ones so far but at less than 200 rounds it might as well be new.
Thank you to the great community of cgn for helping with this! I have asked for your guyses help a few times now and you have yet to disappoint me.
I will post pictures and a range report when I finally find the one I am going to get.

They are great pistols but way over priced in Canada, in my opion. I've had mine a couple of years now and have converted it to the DAK trigger system. As a previous poster stated they do tend to have a bit of play in the slide but the action locks up very tight and the pistol is very accurate.
If you pick one up you may want to invest in the Hogue rubber finger grips. They really make the pistol much more comfortable as most people find the OEM grips too small and the mainspring area of the grip a bit too squared off. Mine has been very reliable and see's lots of trips to the range as it is very fun to shoot. I don't think you will be disapointed.

Op they are almost giving this one away. I wouldn't sell you mine for that if my children were starving.
Thanks guys this is the one that I jumped on. A member pmed this one to me and I called them on Monday and left a voice mail, since they are closed Mondays, saying that I'd take it. Called in today and finished the deal. Now we await the transfer and shipping. Again thanks for the help guys I do a range report when I get a chance.
