Its my first Sig, so im curious whether the slide releases and the take down lever are normally stupidly stiff or was I given a dud?

My gen 1 S&W MP and Beretta 9-two I have no issues with the controls. However after manipulating this 320 for a half hour now, my thumbs are about ready to bleed.

Hmmm, its funny you should say that as I have 2 and they`re totally different

The first P320 was used and it was fine - effort to manipulate the slide release and take down is pretty well what I would expect

I just picked up a new P320RX and its really stiff, I just put it down to the gun being new. It also seems that they have redesigned the slide release to be more compact which doesn't help the issue (less surface area to press on)

As for the P320 takedown lever, the following was helpful with a new P320 RX: pull the slide back very slightly as you rock the takedown lever back and forth gently. Once you are able to get the slide off, lubricate the takedown lever, and rotate the takedown lever back and forth a couple of times. Hope this helps!

It seems to be fairly normal for SIG controls to be tightly fitted when new.

There was some white grease on the fire control group when I got mine, no problem with it though. If it gums up in cold weather (i.e: in transport to dealer, etc...) it may need a good CLP treatment. Tolerances shouldn't be so tight to affect operation since it wouldn't pass quality control inspection at the factory.
