Bought a Sig P320 X-Five for the wife.

I’m having an issue with it staying out of battery. Rack the slide and it stays 1/4 inch out of battery. The pistol will fire in this state. Hardly ideal.

Put 150 rounds through it today, and have to smack the slide to get into battery every shot.

Anyone else have this issue?

Field strip the pistol.
Remove the Bbl from the slide.
Drop a loaded round into the chamber for a "plunk" test.
Visually verify that said round headspaces a few thousandths below the Bbl hood.

IF,said ammo case head does not drop flush w/ the Bbl hood you have cheap out of spec ammo that may require the projectiles to be seated deeper in the case to chamber correctly dependent of projectile ogive.

Has absolutely nothing to do with ammo.

Problem exists without a round in the chamber. Noticed it right away after racking the slide for the first time. Apparently there are many reports of this out of battery condition. Not a fully supported chamber either. Certainly not ideal.

Sure did. Was told it was due to the X-Five being so tight, that it would break in and the issue will correct itself. Well, firing out of battery with an unsupported chamber is just asking for trouble. So 150 rounds is all she is getting through her until Sig can come up with a better explanation.
