SIG Pro 2022 Trigger Mod

I use a dremel with a polishing wheel and aluminum mag wheel polish just until it's smooth.I've never polished to the extent that a sufficient amount of metal has come off.
heres my polished inside and out CIL done with a dremel on the inards and by using my hand filled with wheel polish on the barrel/action..this gun was originally blued
Grab an old part and try it on that first

Are you re-bluing it or re-finishing it at all? If not, it'll rust quick on you.....
Nope.Like any gun part that has been polished,just keep it in a dry place and oil it ,it will not rust
The metal is usually 4130,4140 or A2 tool steel,it tends to stay in good shape with a coat of oil on it.
Look at the bolts in most guns,they are uncoated

Obviously not a rifle that is carried lots then....
All the time,i just clean it and rub it down with oil like any other gun when i'm done using it
Blued steel will rust just as fast if left with fingerprints on it or stored in a damp place.
Don't be afraid to polish parts,your gun is not made of mild steel like your car's body is...

I was looking at the trigger box on my Sig and noticed that it has 2 springs that appear to work the seperate stages. The first pre-loads the spring when pulling the trigger prior to cocking it ~10 lbs pull. The second smaller spring works after it has been cocked ~4 lbs pull. Would it be reasonable to assume that if I simply change out that spring it would alter the amount of pressure required to get off the first shot???

You could give it a try,just make sure it does not let the trigger fall too easy or impair the trigger's return.And don't mess with parts that you cannot easily get a replacement for.
You're favourite guns are usually the ones you've tweaked yourself
That CIL up there^^^ has a sear spring made from a Bic pen spring and let's go at less than 1 lb,just think about pulling the trigger and it fires
