I have done a search and couldn't find this question, so here it goes.
Concerning Sig Pro 2340 in .40 and 2022 in 9mm... apparently, mags for the 2340, which are clearly labelled .40 cal mags (either pinned to 10 or factory 10) can hold 12 rounds of 9mm. They can also function in the 2022.
Has anyone looked into the legalese of this example? I know that the magazine laws refer to what firearm the magazine was designed/manufactured for, and in this case they are clearly manufactured for the 2340 in .40 , and stamped .40. I assume that just like using AR pistol mags in other guns they will fit into, one would be able to use these .40 mags in a 9mm pistol?
Saying this, I don't even know if there are any 2202's in Canada, as they have to have the extended barrel. The extra 2 rounds could prove handy in some situations.

Can I load 9mm into SP 2340 magazines?
Yes. A ten-round SP 2340 (.40 Auto and .357 Sig) magazine will hold twelve rounds of 9mm, and it seems that functionality is unaffected. However, doing so is not recommended for defensive purposes, for obvious reasons. This is a very useful tip for those who have converted their SP 2340 to 9mm using a conversion barrel (see FAQ I-6); it is also useful for those who want to use 10-round SP 2340 magazines in an SP 2009.
