Just got back from the range with my new Sig Sauer 1911 22lr. The pistol is great, but I had a couple of issues that wondered if anyone else has experienced.

1. After emptying a magazine, the slide locked open but when the magazine release button is pressed the magazine won't drop out unless I manually pull it. It doesn't do this if I lock the slide open with rounds still in the magazine. (I suspect it has something to do with the follower on the magazines)

2. I noticed two divots on the side of the frame that have now scored the inside of the slide.

Any advice about the magazine issue? Only heard great things about these pistols, but not impressed right now. It's probably going to go into manufacturer.

Unless something has changed the Sig 1911 22's were made by GSG. All the GSG's come with a mag safety which means the mags will never drop free, they'll always hang up. Youtube has a bunch of vids on how to get rid of it if you want it to run like a standard 1911. The only reason I can think of that the mag drops when it's loaded would be the extra weight overcomes the mag safety.

Easy to fix, no need to send it back for service.

Not sure what the 2 divots would be, pics would help.

I am guessing but it sounds like the slide lock is chewing up the detent on the slide.

A friend of mine returned his because of that issue. IIRC, slide is made from pot metal.

Mine has always not just dropped but ejected out, just went and tried it now to be sure and yep, ejects it out.

I've had a GSG 1911 for some time that is, in essence. identical to a Sig Sauer 1911 (see pic). I have 3 mags. With everyone of them when the slide is locked back when I press the magazine release button, the mag drops out freely without any problem whatsoever. It seems to me that your mag is not worn out properly yet. Wait for a while and see if the problem disappears. I already have around 1,200 shots on mine and everything works like a well oiled German machinery. Fact of the matter is that when I bought my GSG 1911 I also bought the ZRTS Ultimate Performance Kit and installed it right away. That kit made the side disassembly screw completely redundant and greatly improved the reliability and accuracy of the pistol. I've been shooting all 22LR ammo brands without any hiccup.
