Hey guys have a couple questions mainly about the 226 elite. I've been browsing for a used shadow and as we know they are a hot commodity. I've seen some 226's around and like the look and sound of them. I have gotten lots of positive reviews on the shadow but would like to know more about the 226 elite. Does anyone have any input on the 226 elite? Is it legal for ipsc with the short reset trigger? And finally let the battle begin Sig Sauer 226 elite or CZ 75 sp-01 Shadow? Just looking for opinions and knowledge here guys.

Thanks!

Both are excellent guns, can't go wrong with either. Not sure what the legalities are for IPSC. You'll find most top shooters in IPSC use a gun style based off of the CZ75 (SP01 Tac Sport Tanfoglio etc)

Yep....hard to fault either....after much shooting( and agonizing )I kept the shadow....just so beautifully put together..lots of parts..and sooo da*m accurate..I love it's heft and low bore axis...I'm sure at some point I'll go back to sig..probably elite....

I just recently had the same dilemma...in the end, I went with the Sig...just fits my hand better than the Shadow. Shadow trigger felt nicer...it's early days...just bought it 2 weeks ago but no regret so far.

I don't have a P226 Elite, but I do have a Sig P226 Extreme (9mm) and I love it! It has Hogue G10 grips, the SRT and SigLite Sights. At the time I bought it, it was by far the best handgun I had ever owned. The ergos were great and seemed like they were fit to me when it was made. It was accurate and made me look like a better shooter than I really was.

Then, I bought a CZ SP-01 Shadow. As much as I love my Sig, I like and shoot the CZ just a little bit better.

Since I bought the SP-01, whenever I go to the range, it seems I take the CZ, and the Sig stays in the safe. Bottom line ... they are both so good that you can not go wrong.

As for whether you can use the P226 Elite in IPSC, here is the list of approved firearms for the IPSC Production Division

I have Extreme , ammazing gun !

to answer your question on the IPSC, P226 Elite is legal for IPSC production. Production division restricts what modifications you can do, and SAO guns. Since the SRT is out of factory, you are good.
technically both CZ and P226 are great guns like others said. I have both and can see both are very accurate.
As for your purpose, I think CZ would be the choice. It dominates production division for a reason. And down the road, it has more parts and more potential to tune for other divisions as well.
Then if you decide to own both eventually(like most others), buy one that makes financial sense to you now because I doubt you will see any real world difference as the bottleneck wouldn't be the gun.

What's the price on the cz. I am in the same dilemma. I can't find a p226 here for under 1100$.

The shopping around that I have done the cz is definitely cheaper in price, depends where you look, and seems to be more popular in competition.

Although I looked today at Wolverines website and they seem to have taken the shadow off of there... is there any other gun dealers across Canada that anyone would recommend checking out?

I was in the same position, buy a CZ or another P226. I love my wife's P226 in .40 but a friend picked up one of the X-5 shorts that Bulls Eye & Durham Outdoors has; needless to say I bought another SIG. For $1299 you get a full stainless 9mm gun in black finish, made in Germany and hand fitted just as all of the other Master Shop guns; and the test target too!

Same gun as the X-5 All Around short but with the black Ilaflon finish.
