Interesting. Wonder how it will compare to the German and Swiss guns. The price makes it a whole lot more accessible.

I like the new look, and at around $1200 US they might be more affordable than the Swiss ones.

Too bad the American model will never be as reliable or inherently accurate as an original Swiss (and some German) version.
You can't know that for sure, though, until they arrive.

The guns coming out of Exeter have been impeccable in quality. Sure, they're not hand fitted, but I've never seen anything bad come out of their production facility.

It will be interesting to see how tight and well fitted the American made P210's are vs the European counterparts (Which are completely hand built). Maybe it's reflective in price.

Only question that matters; will the magazines for these ones fit the German built guns? Be nice to see a reasonable price ($50-$75) for mags.

Daaaaammmmm.....that's still a sweet pistol.....at 1200$ I'd be in for sure....sign me up..

Well, at today's rate of 1.46 that's $1752. add CDN import costs etc it could be more like $1800-2000. That's assuming the dollar stays around .69 and doesn't test .60 the way some think it will.

yes I'm thinking we could see them here for 2k or so. The target model would definitely be worth the extra.
These might be surprising. Modern computerized machining can achieve very tight tolerances. It is not identical to the other 210s as they have changed the locking mechanism to save a bit of money, but I'm sure they will still shoot well.

Of course you're right.....recon I'll wait till we have parity.....gotta say, I would be tempted

$1,200 is the MSRP. Retail price will be under $1000. This will be a $1400-$1500 gun this side of the border, which is nearly half of what the German-made version sells for. Big question is whether the quality will be comparable.

Based on what I've seen between the high end German guns and the Exeter models (eg 220x6 v 220 match elite) no way the quality will be the same, but doesn't mean the American guns won't be perfectly adequate.

Sadly, you are probably right. However, I've heard that the P210 will be built by the custom shop (together with the X5 and X6), which is in the process of relocating from Germany to the U.S., so there's some hope that it will not be merely an "adequate" American Sig.

I think it has every chance of surprising people, initial reviews seem favourable. It clearly has several features that depart from both original P210 and Legend designs, however judged on its own merit it may be superb. Though the locking system is different it is in no way inferior from an engineering standpoint, just look at the X5/X6 line. The purists will be butt hurt and cry, they always do, but had SIG not used the 210 moniker I bet everyone would be singing praises.

People also easily forget the wage and social benefit discrepancies between Western European labour and North American labour, which accounts for a great deal of the cost disparity. Additionally, when the Legend was being imported the Euro was relatively strong compared to the USD. With modern CNC machining and a reduced cost labour force I think it is very possible we will see something that is able to rival it's predecessors at an aggressive price point. If not, use the $1000 you saved for a trip to Gray Guns?

The word from the Shot Show is that the Sig master shop will not be relocating to the States and that it's been closed down in Europe. This means no more master shop P210's or Xguns.
