Sig Sauer p226 trigger Question

I am wondering if anyone can answer a question about the Sig Sauer P226 (rail model) D/a s/a pistol if it can be converted to accept the DAK trigger kit?
 
Frames made after 2007 are all supposed to be DAK compatible. If you have any doubt about your pistol remove the right grip panel and check that the extra milling was done. There is an excellent example of what it should look like compared to the non-compatible frame on the Top Gun Supply website in the FAQ section. They also have a list of the parts needed to complete the conversion. It's not necessary; according to Sig, to buy the DAK compatible sear if you have one of the newer sears which are marked with two dots on the side. It's probably a good idea to replace the sear though if it is worn through lots of use.
 
I remember reading on another forum that it could depend on how old the gun is. I think it was anything manufactured before 2004 doesn't have the correct machining to fit the DAK conversion, but everything after 2004 does?
Try checking out the sig forum or calling sig customer support, they might be able to tell you whether it is if you know the serial number.

Or could be 2007 as stated above...:redface:
 
Thanks greatly appreciated, I just bought a used p226 originally purchased in 2011 and has miminal use, so I look forward to take it apart and tweaking it a little bit. I'm going to check out those sites and forms you suggested.
 
Not to highjack, but why would you want to? I'm not trying to be judgemental, i just don't know anything about Kellerman trigger mechanisms. What are the advantages? Just curious. I'm actually going to google it right now, but i'll leave this post to see what the forum says.

I don't know, man..... It's not really 'tweaking' when you're swapping out a bunch of internals and changing the trigger system from DA/SA to DAO..... just say'in. ;-) :)
 
tweaking to my particular needs to be similar work wise, and I like to keep things the same for training. The main difference is half the pull of a DOA, I plan on using this pistol for Duty matches and I will probably go with something different for IPSC,

Gotcha, but its like 75% the pull of DAO isn't it? Are there rules in ISPC categories as to what type of trigger you use?
 
I believe its pretty close to half, the other thing is that its more of a consisent trigger pull.

About the rules that is a good question, I don't believe so, that being said I am just getting started and still have to do my black badge course. Personally having shot a couple courses of fire, having a quicker reset has its advantages. but I am sure the argument could be made either way.
