Sig Sauer P226R Diamond Plate in 9mm

Hi,

Do you have any idea as to which dealer would have the elusive recently discontinued Sig Sauer P226R Diamond Plate in 9mm in stock? Or at least a stainless slide P226R? I emailed a few but got no response from most of them.

I always cringe when SIG Sauer Inc. (USA) releases new products. Too many of their products only feature cosmetic features for people looking to make a fashion statement.

SIG Sauer GmbH (Germany), on the other hand, focuses on engineering reliability and precision first; visual accents come second (as evidence from their Mastershop pieces).

My advice is to forget about the diamond-plate edition (there really isn't anything special about it). If you want to stand out and be different, any brand new P226 that doesn't have an accessory rail will make you really look slick and garner envious looks.

This is epitomizes what's wrong with SIG Sauer these days: they have abandoned the rigourous quality control that made their reputation in favour of countless gaudy cosmetic options. Stick to either US or German SIGs made prior to 2006, when Ron Cohen took over the company.
