Takedown
Pay close attention to where all the parts are as you do this
Remove slide/feild strip
Decock if it is SA/da
look at the position of the slot on the trigger axis pin(left side of frame looks like a screwdriver slot , remember this image
Remove right grip panel
disengage trigger bar spring from the trigger bar (note the position the tip sits in)(Left rear of gun.) and then turn and unclip the other end from the frame.
Rotate takedown lever 180 degrees and remove to the left
Slowly lift the front(muzzle end) of the locking insert(big steel cam in frame immediately over the trigger axis pin) meanwhile looking at the left sideof the locking insert so you will see where the nose of the Slide latch/TD lever spring fits into the locking insert. pinch the locking insertand spring betwen you thumb and index finger continue to rotate up and out.
Next look down in the frame from the front alittle at the trigger axis pin and you will see it has two cut outs Left and right of trigger that are facing slightly forward and slightly down. This is the correct position for reassembly.
Note the slide latch lever is affixed on the left side of the trigger axis pin and sits right agains the left side of the frame between the frame and locking insert when assembled.
next push out the trigger axis pin either direction but make sure it goes back in with the slot on the end facing the same it was before dissassembly.I believe they are all on the left side.
Slide latch will now drop out as well no biggy.
pivot the lower part of the trigger back while lifting and gently caming the trigger bar down while canting the trigger slightly left to clear the frame cutouts, should come up forward and out.
Some can be a little cantankerous, do not force it, when in doubt turn the frame upside down with a slight forward cant and genlty shake it will most likely fall out.
Slide the trigger off the trigger bar axis pin to the left and replace with short trigger.
Re-assemble in reverse order.except the shake part.
No special tools required, grip screws were the only part that may require some effort. Everything else is like a puzzle fit, no force required, no hammer and no rocks, knives, files or dynamite.
If you run into trouble you are simply doing something out of sequence.
If you cant get the takedown lever or locking insert out it is because you forgot to decock.
Worse come to worse I could scan and email the manufacturers instructions.
If you have trouble let me know and I will sort it out.
