SIG Trigger question

I'm looking at purchasing a refurbished SIG Pro 2340 .40 S&W.

The only thing I think is going to be a problem is it is DAO. I own a Ruger SR9 it is souble action only but my understanding is it's different with a striker fire pistol than a hammer style action? I am mail ordering the gun so I can't test it either. I also don't want to spen $200 on a DA/SA conversion kit. The crazy thing is I saw alot of people on the internet that were converting from DA/SA to DAO? I can't figure out why someone would want to do that?

Anybody have any opinions/experience with this?

Sig has two types of Double Action Only triggers:

1) Double Action Kellerman (DAK), which is similar to Glock's "safe action" trigger mechanism. As the slide moves back, the striker (or in Sig's case hammer) is partially cocked and the trigger action completes the cocking process and releases the striker/hammer. This is essentially a "1.5x action" system.

2) Traditional DAO, where the hammer is fully decocked on every shot. This type of action has much heavier trigger pull than DAK or Glock's safe action. Basically, with this type of DAO, you get the worst possible trigger pull and I really wouldn't recommend it.

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I have a strong suspicion that Dlask's refurbished Sig Pros fall in the second category. I don't believe the 2340 was ever offered with a DAK trigger.
