Sig triggers

I was wondering if you can use a standard trigger blade instead of the thin trigger blade on a SRT trigger group?

my stainless SIG P226 Elite came with factory installed SRT and has a standard fat trigger, so it works both ways.
compared with my SIG Pro short trigger (thin) have to say that I like a lot better the P226 standard one...

Ok good to know because I just got my 229 with the SRT installed and the thin trigger and I find that I can pinch my finger between the trigger and the frame. Do you know a sponsor who stock standard triggers?

I think it would, can't find any source to confirm it for sure but from all the pictures I looked at they are the same but one is thicker than the other.

Yes you can swap triggers with no problems. Sig only recently started shipping their pistols with the "slim" trigger which used to be an option. I too dislike the "slim" trigger and swapping them out is the first thing I do now.

Do not confuse the "short" trigger with SRT. "Short" refers to the thinner unit and the "thin" and "fat" units are easily interchangeable.

They could have come up with a better designation to make it less confusing but I got it now.

I just installed the new trigger and after some dry firing I notice that it hit the frame and start to damage the coating. Since there is no trigger travel stop, is this common on Sig?

Yes it's completely normal. Some frames will have bigger and some smaller marks. Don't worry about it the mark wont get any worse and if it really bothers you, you can touch it up with a "sharpie".

Alright, thanks. I was more curious about it than worried. I buffed the rough edges on the back of the trigger and it help a lot.
