I can't say for sure but they feel MUCH thicker. My hands size is slightly above average, and with stock grips, the P226 fits me perfectly. With Hogue rosewood panels, the grip is way too wide. Even the Desert Eagle feels better in the hand.how much thicker are they than stock?

P220 has a single stack mag, which leads to a naturally thinner grip. I was talking about P226.Interesting. I have small-ish hands and felt that the rosewood grips were a big improvement on my P220. Mind you, I was replaceing a Crimson-trace grip set.

Of course. I would expect the overall grip size of a P226 and a P220 to be different. But all other things being equal, I was comparing plastic vs wood on the same gun; a P220. The wood grips just felt thinner.
