Hello All, I have an opportunity to pick up a Sig X Five Scandic, new, from a dealer at a very reasonable price, due to the fact that it only has one magazine, and is supposed to come with two. The price is $1300 dollars less than I can find at any other dealer.

My question is, does the X five take the standard P226 magazines, or are the X Five magazines a special type just for the X Five. If they are exclusive to the X Five, does anyone know any dealers that have any in stock or can get any?

Also, if anyone has any experience with this pistol and could let me know their thoughts, it would be greatly appreciated.

The X-fives will except the standard 226 mag (in fact the All-round and Competition only come with the standard mags I believe). The only thing that you will be missing is the thick aluminum base pad that sits flush with the mag well. You can get these base pads separately. I believe Calgary Shooting Centre had some custom made for the standard 226 magazine.
 
from online posts, they seem to be interchangable. since p226 mags are very common, why don't you go to range to try them in your x5?

^^ This. They have 226 mags in stock as of this morning when I was there with the base plate attached read to go for an X5. $99 + tax I believe.
 
I could be mistaken, but I was under the impression that only some X5's could take standard Sig mags. I know the All Round and Tactical can take standard P226 mags for sure, but not sure about the L1 X5's
