So I had this X-Six sitting in my safe for about 7 years un-fired. Thought I'd sell it... no luck... decided to keep it.

I would really like to put a red dot like a vortex venom on it... I had one on the shelf waiting for something to put it onto.

Scoured the internet looking for a suitable mounting plate for it...very little out there and what I did find would have been north of the 200.00 range out of Europe by the time

my trusty mail guy showed up with it.

One night I landed on Ali Express for something and I see these mounting plates showing up. So I narrowed the search to X-Six / X-5 etc.

Well to my surprise I find one... Said it fits the X-6... what do I have to lose for 23.23 total with shipping ... in my cart it goes.

So you're thinking what I was probably thinking ... some S&($ made in cheena right?? Didn't have very high hopes but... I thought I'd roll the dice for $23.00??? Why not!

3 weeks later I get a strange padded envelope in the mail ... totally forgot about this thing... It's my mount... Opened it up... looks hopeful!

Pulled my sight off (very easy, one pin and a screw) and popped this thing on the gun... well hell... if it didn't fit...well... not exactly.

I had to modify the bottom of the plate a little with my trusty milling machine ... took a couple of thousands off and tried it again... this time... bang on! I suspect you could do it

with a file and a Dremel quite easily...

What a surprise... something from the internet that actually worked... and from China to boot!

Can't wait to head out to the range and put bullets into bullet holes!

IF you're an x-six or x-five owner and want to put a red dot on your unit... Check it out... Quality was quite (surprisingly) Excellent!

Interesting update...

This post drew an awesome gunnut out of the woodwork who happened to have some surplus x-parts in his drawer and was kind enough to sell them to me.

Now this gun looks like it did in the original ads I saw... doesn't get any sweeter than that. Thank you so much TT.

I saw this pistol on the EE many times, and every time I stopped to look at the pics and drool a little. That is an absolutely gorgeous pistol and if circumstance were a little different I would have loved to buy it. I hope you enjoy shooting it.

OP,
A bridge mount that mounts on the dustcover rail for approximately $50 would allow open sight use...also.

And over time will save the optics it is not attached/cycling w/ the slide.

SIG Master Shop pistols are awesome.

Can you get a bridge mount for $50? The dedicated Sig X-series bridge mounts are $700, but maybe there are some aftermarket options.

There are trade-offs with the bridge mounts. They are heavy and bulky and you either have to take the mount off to remove the slide and clean the pistol, or you need to remove the rear sight.

Hey... please do send me a link to that 50.00 bridge mount... I'd sure appreciate something better than what I've got. Much appreciated!

I just checked out Armory Craft and the Sig bridge mounts are listed at $1495...

Let us know after the range trip how the rear sight mount worked, if it stays tight etc... I see AC has the same mount for the german P210 which I may try.

Removing 1 or 2 cross screws to slide the mount/optic off the frame to facilitate slide removal...is simple.

Yes, and then more than likely you have to re-zero the sight which is a PITA every time. Granted that is probably less of an issue on a combat oriented pistol with that cheap plastic mount, than a dedicated target set-up you'd want on your high end X-series or comp CZ or 2011.

Will do... haven't had it out yet but I'm looking forward to it. I also have 210 so I'd appreciate any information you may have on your mount? Pictures etc. Thank you!

Here is a picture of it and link:
