Hey guys and gals I have a tactical 870 that I want to put either a red dot or a compact scope on it as I will be taking it with me hunting this year. Help with my search please and thank you
 
Depends what you're hunting - if you're after deer and using slugs the a low-power scope might do the trick. An RDS may so you some good if you're looking for turkeys or whatnot or using it for buckshot (close-range deer/IPSC/3-Gun, etc; otherwise irons will more than do the trick...

This year will be deer and I want to hunt turkey as well and eventually I will get into 3 gun and or IPSC so I'm not sure what to go for. I was looking at Ncstar dots and scopes but I'm not sure how or if they could hold up to the recoil.
 
Holo Sight is the only way to go. The circle is great for busting clays and pattering bb loads and the dot in the middle is great for shooting slugs.
