Sight moving on CZ Shadow

The rear sight on my wife's CZ Shadows are an absolute b!tch to move! Yes, I am loosening the set screw before trying to move them.

What are others doing?

I recently tried swapping out the sights for adjustable ones, on two Shadows. First one was a real pain.

Tried hammer and punch
Heat
Freezing
Applying heat while using a drill press as a mini press
Medium sized sight pusher (broke the pusher by destroying the threads)
Tried an even larger hammer - bent a punch

I was one step away from using a milling machine. Slavex has a giant sight pusher, one worthy of King Kong. It worked.

The other Shadow was fine. Firm hits and the rear sight post was out. Easy as pie. Btw, remove from right to left.
 
Thanks! Seems to be a common problem.

All I want to do is move the rear sight a tad to the left as my wife consistently groups to the right.

The one that broke with my friend's Shadow was the B&J Machine P500 sight pusher. It's $114 US funds from Brownells. I'm sure it'll work for most sights, but it failed this time.

I think Slavex's is the MGW Sight Pro Sight Mover, also available from Brownells. $300 US plus a bit more for each type of gun, (has a cool adapter to fit in the slide rails to avoid distortion if the sight is really stuck in there).
 
Damned if I'll put that kind of money into a sight mover for the sake of a couple of guns, plus taxes and duty.

I had to take my wife's new Winchester/Miroku '73 to a 'smith tho have a new larger bead front sight installed. Couldn't pound out the original and it had to be cut with a hack saw and taken out in two pieces.

Beats me how these sights are installed at the factory.

After going through this issue myself, I wouldn't buy a "cheap" sight pusher, no matter how many people said they work. I'd either try pounding it out, then go see Slavex if that didn't work.

Go see a gunsmith to get the sight out. Just bring the slide, no ATT required. When the sight is out, use 600-800 grit paper and sand the bottom smooth. Test fit and look at any tight spots on the dovetail. The new sight I fitted needed a little sanding on the front dovetail too. I kept at it until the sight could be forced in by hand about 1/4 the way. Then some medium taps to see how it fit. If too snug, remove it and sand a bit more.

Then I used some cold blue for basic protection, and a generous helping of G96, when I pounded it into position. Now it's a good snug fit, not easily moved. Set screws probably not required. lol!

It's $95USD and CZ Custom won't ship to Canada. Plus it only does CZ pistols. If you ever do want to spend the money get a good quality Universal as has been posted already.

Just drifted my shadow sights yesterday. Ended up buying a 1/4" brass rod from depot, cutting it down to around 5 inches, clamping it to a work bench, heating it with a hairdryer and giving it a number of solid hits.. it didnt move much or easily but it got the job done.
 
I had good luck with mine by using a vice to hold it and a rubber mallet.
I saw another dude's posted video where he used an electrical twist cap on the end of a punch to prevent marring.
