Sight question for S&W 617

This may be a stupid question but I'm going to ask anyway. I have had my 617 out a few times now since I picked it up, love it for the most part, but I am having a really hard time seeing the front site in anything other than perfect light conditions. Is it possible to paint the front sight, or do you have to change out the sights?
Appreciate your feed back as allways.
Thanks again,
KO

I would say it is really not going to help. You want the front blade super black & sharp. Possibly you might have to look at a pair of glasses that will give you the sharp front sight yet a fuzzy rear sight & bit fuzzy target. So much will depend upon age of the shooter. Your S&W 617 has a perfect front blade & not a ramp front sight as on so many of the revolvers unless you have one of the rare ones with a ramp front sight.
