sight upgrades for winchester lever guns

I installed a Williams Peep site on the chassis of the rifle (near the hammer). Mine was made in 1956 so it was predrilled for that set-up. I also used a fibre optic bead on the front site. I found my groups were tighter then - when I used the OEM Buckhorns and steel fron sight.

Winchester started factory drilling model 94 carbines in 1950 tight around the time the shortened the forend about an inch. Tang sight not an option for a 1950's 94 unless you get forward hole drilled and tapped on the tang . Lyman 57a is the sight of a 56a though they are pricey.
Personally can't stand new fangled optical sights on old 94's( Fibre optics etc) May work fine but doesn't go with a classic woods rifle to me but to each their own.

I'm not sure if it is an option for the Turnbull mount, but I've had Brownell's special order sights for me that they didn't have in stock (or carry normally as far as I know).
