My CZ shoots about 10 inches high and 8 inches to the right. How can I zero it in? Do I need a special tool for the front sight and if so where do I get one and is there any posts on here on how to use it?

Great rifle and easy to clean.

Kicks my SKS in the ass.

Please try to post pics of your front sight and rear like this.

yes, you need a tool , you can buy one from trade-ex, one of our sponsor above.

before you go adjusting your sight , please make sure you are not in battle sight range (setting U) . you should be at 1.

well , yeah ... it should kick SKS ass, after all it cost twice as much .

No disrespect, but how does a CZ858 kick SKS ass?

BTW, the CZ cost more than thrice what the Russkie SKS cost and more than 4 times Norinco SKS, when they (the CZ and Norkie) were available at Leverarms.

I read it was more accurate, the trigger was better and the rifle was more balanced... its the reason why im not getting an sks just yet.

In my experience I have never seen an SKS shoot better than 6 inch groups. My CZ shoots 2 inch groups. The workmanship in my opinion is also much better. Also, I don't have to pay $50 for a second mag.

It's just my opinion and I do own both. Not knocking the ruskie and for its price range it's a great gun. But for the price I would rather have my CZ.

I know alot of guys who modded their sks to the nines and still cannot shoot two inch groups. That rifle was mass produced and in my opinion the CZ was built to higher standard. I still love my sks and it is a great gun to own. Moreover I love 7.62 x 39 as it is a great little caliber.

Mine can shoot 3 shot 2 inch groups but so far, the best for a 5 shot has been 4 inches, most have been 5 inches. I only shoot CZ surplus ammo. I agree the SKS may, or more accurately, will never approach the 858's accuracy but for the SKS's intended use, either by the designer or myself, it will do quite nicely thank you.

BTW, I am nearsighted and astigmatic and have to wear bifocals. When I shoot, I wear non-prescription safety glasses because prescription lenses will not allow me to see the front sight. To even manage any kind of group at 100 yds is a blessing for me.:dancingbanana:

I totally agree with CZ high quality. Had a CZ85, still have and regularly shoot two 452 22lr rifles; love them and someday hope my grandsons will love them too. However, my SKS's will never need a second (or third, or fourth...) magazine and it will never lose one in the field:D Stripper clips are free with the CZ ammo as well.

Yup, am not knocking the CZ, for the same money, I'd rather have 3 russkie SKS's with leftover change (lever arms prices). I would like to have one 858, but with my current financial status, I cannot afford to buy $700 guns anymore.:( I sincerely hope you will never be an SKS convert because that will mean more for us SKS lovers.;)

I went to the gravel pit this past weekend, I was using my car roof as a rest and was getting less then 2 inch groups at 200 yards, open sights, no mods.

I wish I kept that shoot-N-C target.
Sorry, you can't compare a rifle like a CZ-858 to an SKS. Well worth the "3 times whan an SKS is worth."

As for the Op's question - I would listen to Joey (Satain) on whatever he says about 858's.

See how SKS vs CZ at gong shoot.

Easyrider604 you should stop all this he said, she said stuff about SKS and CZ.
Next 200meter gong shoot, invite all the CZ girls and boys and lets see how they and their $700.00 overpriced rifles compare to our $200.00 underpriced rifles. Let the them put their ammo were there mouth is. There entry fee should be 3 boxes of ammo to our one, since their rifles are worth three times as much. Should be some good competetive fun..................
