For 40+ years, I have used +3" at 100 as my standard for all big game rifles. This will get a MRT of 4" or so with some rifles, but I have never had to think about the implications of that, since I am used to the setting, and comfortable with it. With this setting, if I have to hold above the hairline of an animal because of distance, I ask myself Do you really need to take this shot, or can you get closer? Regards Eagleye

Yup, I got my elk with one shot at 700 yards and I aimed dead-on with my big magnum. Yessireee
if i've already thrown the beer box out. If that works OK Then I just figure out what I should hold at around 200 yards or so
