Sightron 1.75-4 × 32 Reviews?

Anyone own or have used one of these scopes? At the price they are listed at I'm skeptical of their quality but I always have heard good things about Sightron.

If it is quality I'm thinking this could be a decent scope to mount on my Ruger Alaskan(375 Ruger chambered). I'd like to have the option of the reduced magnification compared to the current Leupold M-8 4x that is on there now with the same high end magnification for further shots. I'm probably overthinking and overcomplicating things as the M-8 will probably serve me quite well and is likely a bit lighter and more robust, but I had to ask. Could also serve me well on my scout rifle which is currently without optics.

Anyway, I'm interested in hearing any opinions of it if anyone has used one, thx.

I do use one but on a rimfire. So can't school you on recoil resistance. But I can tell you that it's compact and surprisingly clear. I've send it back to Sightron to get the parallax tuned down to 40 meters and its my thick wood rimfire scope now. Love it. I have and SIH 3-9 on my 6.5X55 and it covers all of my needs. Hope someone has one on a hard hitting rifle to tell you about.

I bought an S1 2-7x35 off the EE, purchased for a 22 and then swapped onto a slug gun for a while for fun, it has help up without any issue but not really the 'test of time' so to say, only 15-20 slugs with it....my first sightron scope and happy enough that I'm looking at buying another one or two

Thanks guys, appreciate the feedback. I suppose at the cost it really isn't a huge investment to buy one to try out, the bigger question is if I should replace the M-8 I have on the rifle now which currently has given me no issues, is lightweight, and compact, I just can't help but wonder how much better snapshooting might be with a minimal magnification scope.

I have Sightron on my Rifles. 80% of Nightforce at 70% the cost. It might not have the 'Name' or 'Marketing Hype' of some brands, but the glass is excellent, and tracking perfect on the SIII models I own.

I'd love to try a Nightforce, but I can't quite bring myself to part with that much cash...lol

Neither can I, but this particular scope is so cheap ($160ish) that I have to question its quality/durability.

I was skeptical too until I made the plunge. Jerry at Mystic Precision hooked me up with a Siii and it can compete with Night force any day! Great quality optic for the buck.

I have a 1x7 STAC M14 and a 3x9 on my .22WMR. I have been been very happy with both so far and was reluctant at first too. I spoke t oJerry from Mystic over the course of a few emails and am very happy I went with his recommendations on both of them. Great optics for the money!

-Saryet, out!-

I am intrested in this model as well for a lightweight 308 I am doing up. Price seems really great and sightron has a great track record for quality and value.

not the same but i have two s1 german 4 in 3-9x40 and they hold very well. do not know for the actual sightron or NF but few years ago they were coming from LOW like bushnell and nightforce or Huskemaw.

Glad this was asked,I was looking earlier at the same scope. Will take a chance next and order next week.

Great, post a review or update this thread once you've got it, I'd be quite interested in reading it, thx.

Seems like everyone generally has had positive experiences with their Sightrons so far, glad to hear it.

I own several Sightrons. I wasn't impressed with the SIH but for the price, its a decent option. I love the SIIs, they rival the VX-2 leupolds I was using. They are tough, I use them in the bush all year.
The only issue I had was a Turret on one of my SIIs stripped. The hex that loosens off to reset the turret to zero stripped. I emailed Sightron and they shipped a new one the next day, No receipt, no questions.

I have full confidence in them.
