Anynody has this scope anything to say good or bad?

How is this S Tac compares to the S3 and why the 2.5-17.5 is much more expensive than other S Tac series?

Had a S3 before but never look through a S Tac and aware that they are made in Philippines vs Japan

This STAC uses Japanese lenses and why it is so much more money. It has very nice glass and works wonderfully in low light. The intended audience was Europe and Australia where they can hunt at night with spot lights at close ranges.

Glass is similar to SIII scopes.

If I can help, please pm or email. Thanks

Thanks Jerry for your reply.

I know it has Japanese glass but my question is why the 2.5-17.5x is double and even triple of other S Tac series?

The 2.5-17.5x is almost 6-24x S3 price range while other S Tac are price between $550 to around $800?

The S-tac 1-7 And 2.5-17 are different than the other, new model stacs

They have way better glass.

I’m guessing the new models are low budget, Philippine glass :)

This scope was originally an SIII scope so likely manf to a higher cost base????

wrt to the differences, I really don't know as global sourcing really mucks with pricing...

The other STAC scopes offer fantastic performance and tracking. yes, the optics is a step down from the SIII but still punches well above their price point and most customers report "WOW" vs the similarly priced peers.

Country of origin doesn't always determine outcome. It really depends on the tooling in that factory and QC level the end product is held to... the country affects cost of labour input and that can vary huge around the globe.

Thanks Jerry for your prompt reply as usual.

Still on the fence on what scope to get for my next build.

Had an S3 before but too much magnification for my use (8-32x) and sold it, now I am looking for something upto around 15x and haven't decide yet.

Jerry,
Is it possible to get different aftermarket turrets for a 2.5-17.5x56 STAC scope? Can you buy turret caps for it and / or low profile turret knobs? Just wondering if it is possible to make the scope more useful for hunting applications.

Unfortunately, what you see...

have a look at the Athlon line up. I have been using these this year and have been really impressed with the tracking and optics vs pricing. There are several FFP and SFP options that have options more for hunting then target or range use.

Can offer all options so please let me know Thanks
