I'm considering one of the 3-16x42 or 4-20x50 models. The fine reticle is what's got my attention.

Any feedback on these models?

Thanks.

I bought a S-tac 4-20X50 a few years ago.I used it on a 303 and a 22. I like it a lot. To be honest, my eyes can't see the difference between that scope and the two SIII that I use. Sightrons are worth the money. I purchassed mine from Hirsh Precision, they are great to deal with.

I have both models you mentioned, both have moa 2 reticle. Very impressed, clear sharp images and positive adjustments. They both currently reside on rimfires and find they are perfect for target or gopher shooting. Good value for the money.

Peter is a great guy, wish he thought the same of me

hehehehehehe

But peter is one of the best dealers I ever met in 35 years of shooting

I have a 4-20×50. Good enough for the price point. The eye box/ relief is ultra sensitive at 20x, probably the most of all my brands of scopes. That is my only gripe about it. So i just dial it up to 18x and that seems to work better and not "black out" if you move your head a millimeter.

I had one with the fine reticle. Was too fine for my tastes. Would have been great if I only wanted it for target shooting, but if I was buying another it would be the heavy duplex version.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

It will be target only so that's why I was looking for the fine reticle.

3-16x42 For target it was great. Grouse and rabbits at lower light conditions - not good for me due to the fine reticle. I sold mine for that reason.

I've got one on a Rem 700 7mm mag, taken it out to 1000m a few times, good scope for the money, it's the 5-20 version with MOA2, it's slightly different from the 4-16 MOA3 reticle. I've tried both dialing and holdovers from 600-1000m both with excellent results. The center dot is .25moa at 20x and allows for pretty decent precision at long range. No complaints here with eyebox, I was able to see the bullet arc and impacts with each shot easily. With the Badger Thruster brake, it's like shooting a 223.

I’ve been very happy with my 3-16. For the money it’s a pretty darn good scope. The quality is very good and for its price range it seems very solidly built.

Exactly my take on the 4-20. I have it on a 223 varmint. It has been beat up riding on an ATV across plowed fields, fell off said ATV at 30 km on said field lol. Once the core sample was cleared from the barrel, and a quick lense wipe down held zero perfectly. The shooter missed the coyote though...

Bahaha...core sample

I have the 3-16x42 mm model. mounted it in a set of MDT Elite rings on my 308 rpr. nice clear glass and tracks perfectly. only complaint is towards last light the reticle gets hard to see.
