That looks like PLA, which is very brittle. Try TPU 98, which has a little flex but is WAY stronger than PLA.
Note: The number after the TPU refers to its stiffness. TPU 92 is really soft. TPU 95 is a good material, which flexes a bit but is not overly soft. TPU 98 is the best version as it still flexes a bit but can be made to be pretty stiff with some thickness.
Stainless steel nuts and bolts kits can be bought off Amazon for very reasonable price. I used 3mm for my throw levers.
