Hey All

I would like to try one of the Sightron line of scopes
on my Anschutz 1717 , shooting target 100 - 200 mtrs.

Looked at the S-Tac line but feedback on which would be
a good match .

Tried one of the 36X scopes a few years ago and shot a couple of BR50 matches and wasn’t impressed with clarity and went back to a Weaver T36 and a Leupold Competition 45X

Decent for the money. Not sure you could do better with the same budget. Glass is subjective though. Everyone’s eye will prefer something different.
I’d rank it with the vortex pst line maybe. Not quite nxs good, but maybe slightly higher than most of the bushnell stuff. Just my opinion. I’ve owned all that I mentioned. Some at the same time. Doesn’t hit up a level like some will say.
Maybe a little dated as far as looks and features go.

I ordered 3 from Jerry 10 years ago . S3 LR 6 X 24x 50 . One for a .223 , one for a .308 and one for a .338LM . No problems . I put tactical turrets on them as well as cheap zero stops and i've hammered thousands of rounds .

I have 2 s3 6x24x50 , 1 4x20x50 stac . They are on 223's and a308. Have had no problems with s3's. Stac crosshair turned to a 45 degree angle on me . Sent it away for warranty. Had it back in 3wks. Exterior finish is better on the s3, but it's twice the money . Tracking when using the turrets has been right on the money .

Hey Thnkz for the feedback , I've been some what
hesitant on the Sightrons and from what's been written
I think that I'll stay Leupold / Bushnell .

I really would like a Steiner or S & B , possibly sell
a couple of my Bushys.

Although I can't help you with Sightron Optics info I do own an Anschutz 1717 personally and I am running a Leupold 6.5-20x40 AO and have had exceptional accuracy (my most accurate 100 -150 meter gun/scope combo). You won't be disappointed with longer shots with a quality higher magnification scope. Phil.

Hey Phil
I only aquired my 1717 last month and been to the range once.
I phlippin' love this gun , it is the older model with the flag safety .

I have a Leupold vx3i LRP 8.5-25x50 on another rifle which is a great scope
just thatI have trouble with the TMR reticle .

I like the Bushnells only they have fairly thick reticles .

I don't have to buy and sell too many scopes that
I can't use ... skwerl

My Leupold scope on the Anschutz 1717 has a fine duplex, EFR (extended focal range) model that allows focus on shorter range shots often used with air rifles but works well also with longer range targets. I bring out this rifle/scope combo to our annual staff shoots and most people prefer to use this set up for our informal but hotly contested shooting competition. More often than not the competition is won by someone using this rifle as it is very easy to shoot accurately. The only problem is who will get this gun when I kick the bucket as both my daughter and grand daughter are claiming "dibs" on this. Phil.

Hey Skwerl! Hope ur doin great. Happy that you finally were able to fufill the Annie quest. I wouldnt be afraid of the sightron line. I have three in the S Tac series and theyre awesome for the price point. Ive cranked the crap out of em and their reliable and repeatable. They are however not my Kahles or Razors or Zeiss as far as optical quality but also in a completely different class and price range. If youd like to try one i have a 4-20X50 with 30mm tube ill send you to check out. Great buy for the money. Pm me and ill fire it off to you in the mail. Cheers Pal
