Sightron SII 36x42 owners ??

Good day folks:
I am wanting a scope for one of my .22 cal rifles. It is a CZ 457 and will be used primarily for target shooting, indoor 25 yards, and outdoor 60 and 100 meters.
I’m interested in a fixed power Sightron, specifically , the SII 36x42, unfortunately the closest dealer is about 600 kms away, so there is little chance of looking at the scope prior to buying it.
I’m hoping to get some feedback from those who own , or have owned one… I have read just about everything I can find on the inter-web about them, but feel hesitant to pull the trigger, so to speak, without actually looking through it.
If you owned one, do you still have it, or did you move it along and get something else ??
Any feedback or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I've had more than a few scopes for target shooting with .22LR. I'm not aware of any other fixed power scope suitable for rimfire benchrest shooting that is currently in production that compares with the Sightron SII 36X42 scope in affordability and usefulness. The scope has an adjustable objective (AO) that goes down to 15 yards and a .125 target dot reticle. It does the job on the range. As a caveat, it's not suitable for low light conditions, a characteristic of high power scopes with the Sightron's dimensions.

The Weaver T36 is no longer made nor is Bausch and Lomb 36X, both of which are good but available only on the pre-owned market. For a new scope in the sub-$1000 range, there are few if any good alternatives. If I needed another scope for rimfire benchrest, I wouldn't hesitate to get another. I've had many of them over the years.

I have two of the Sightron Sll 36x scopes I find them to be an excellent scope on par with my 36X Weavers.

I like a fine cross hair with dot reticle however some people find these hard to see.

That said I am 78 years old with less than perfect vision & I find this reticle perfect for my needs.

Thanks for your response Rod B. I appreciate the feedback thus far, and I have decided to order one …
