Sightron SIII 6-24 vs. Vortex Viper PST 6-24

I haven't shot with a pst, but I have a siii mounted in my 338lm right now and it is awesome!

I haven't shot with a sightron but my PST on my 300wm is awesome.
.....
I too would like to hear from someone with both. although just looking at the reticule options for the sightron I only see a mil dot option no hash marks. or am I missing something. Hash marks in MIL are a must for my tastes, with matching turrets .

I've got the Sightron on my .223 and love it ! So much I just bought another one for my .204.
I got the LRMOA reticle, awesome, can't say enough good things. Jerry at Mystic Precision is Great to deal with and can hook you up.

Give me about a week or a week and a half. Just placed my order with mystic precision for a SIII 6-24.

Right now I have a SIII 8-32 and my girlfriend is shooting with a Viper PST 6-24 SFP.

Both the Viper and the SIII look and feel well built. The Viper has more tacticool features and the zero stop feature is very nice. I hear a lot about the vipers zero stop. Most people don't like if because it lets you go down past the zero and the you have to come back up to the zero. But this gets rid of any issues with lash.

When shooting with the 2 scopes I find that the Viper is a lot easier to get focused then the SIII. With the viper I just turn the paralax adjustment until its focused and start shooting. With the SIII I have to go back and forth over the sweet spot to dial it in.

The Sightron might have a slight edge over the Vortex in clarity. But it is hardly noticeable. Both are very clear scopes.

So with the Viper at $830 and the SIII at around $1000 the Viper might be a better choice for some people. They are just hard to get. Mines been on order for a year and a half.

Kona,
I'd be interested to hear how the SIII 6-24 compares to the 8-32 while your comparing it with the viper too. If you don't mind.

OP,
I have a SIII 8-32 but have no Viper experience. FWIW, I like the SIII so much, I even like the focus adjustment, I will get another when funds allow or maybe go for the SIII 6-24.

Ok will do. What would you like me to compare between them?

I'll snap some pics and maybe to a tall target test with all the scopes.

I guess in my first post I didn't really say it but I like my sightron. One huge + about them is that they are in stock all over the place!

My scope came in yesterday.

Got it mounted but its raining every day.

Snapped some pics though. :D

First is my Sightrons. Both came from Mystic Precision (thanks Jerry!). 8-32 on my M12 F-class and 6-24 on my 110BA.

And my girl friends M12 Benchrest and her Vortex Viper 6-24 SFP.

Here's a good right up on both scopes in question. Hope it comes through.
