I think I've narrowed down my quest to Sightron scopes, and was looking at the Big Sky 3-9x42 (SIIB3942) and the Big Sky 3-12x42 (SIIB31242) for hunting and casual target shooting.
The dimensions, weight, eye relief, field of view (at the same magnifications), and adjustment range appear to be identical.
Would there be some disadvantages because of the 3-12's better zoom, or is the price really the only difference? I don't know enough about optics to figure out by the specs.
