My Mossberg 500 with 18" non-ribbed, beaded barrel shoots challenger slugs in decent groups, but always high and left. I am looking for a simple solution to improve accuracy. Essentially, I need an adjustable rear sight. The receiver is factory drilled and tapped for a scope. Is there a product that will simply bolt on to the existing holes? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I thought about this also, but the cost of the sights didn't justify it, so I bought a new 590 with them already instead.

Colin ... does the rear sight simply bolt into the existing holes on the receiver on your 590?

No rear mounted adjustable sight is going to work with your bead.
You will need a taller front sight.

A taller bead on a pedestal would bring the shots down....

A red dot would be good too.

Early 500 were not drilled and tapped (mine):(

The new are and will easily take the Mossberg rear sight (so I am told)

The front sight appears to be soldered on, where the bead is staked/tapped in.
