For my 1911A1C, a dental tool worked well to clean the cosmoline from the "white" dots of the rear sight, and some matt white model paint, like Testors, brought them up nicely. Trouble is, now I can't pick up my FRONT sight on account of the high-contrast rear sight! I need to do something with the front blade without altering its dimensions. Got some luminous tape, like that used on the 60mm mortar tubes, and I'll try tacking a little strip on. An easy, non-gunsmith fix...maybe...
