Hi Folks,
Just picked up a Henry Lever 22lr, nice gun, I don't really like the sights though.
Has anyone found either a good, adjustable sights set-up or a good scope ? I'm not sure how well a scope would fit on such a small rifle but with my old eyes, I may favor a scope these days.
Thanks for any and all info !
Cheers,
Mike

I used either Skinner Peeps coupled with the Lyman AUG17 and Lee Shaver inserts, or a Leupold VX-1 2-7x28mm rimfire scope in low Leupold rings... my eyes are failing me too... at this point, it is the scope for me.

Henry uses standard 3/8 dovetail so any standard sights made by Williams or Marbles will fit.
The grove on the receiver is also machined to take any standard rimfire scope mount.

If your Henry is drilled and tapped just forward of the receiver i would use
Henry's cantilever mount, if not it should be grooved. I like the 1.5-5x20 scopes
originally designed for shotgun use, they are compact and have fast target acquisition.

Couldn't agree more with scope choice, its absolutely perfect for an all-round rimfire. Great for small game hunting and can still hold its own at 50 yards. I am about to throw a 1-4x20 on my Henry as my 1.5-5x20 is sitting on my CZ.

Also, you might want a hammer extension with a scope on your Henry.

My eyesight is getting sufficiently poor that I decided to put a red dot sight on mine . It fits and works awesome . It does take away somewhat from the classic look of the rifle , but , my theory was that if I cannot see the sights well enough to shoot accurately , the rifle is of no value . Total investment was $50 and it was a huge improvement . Everyone that tried my rifle , absolutely loved it .
