Silenced revolver

Only supressable revolver is the Russian Nagant revolver. Has a gas seal between the cylinder and barrel by moving the cylinder forward upon cocking...also has a weird case that bridges the gap upon firing due to the extreme crimping of the case mouth in front of a deeply seated round nose bullet.

I hate to disagree with you gents, SMith & Wesson made somr many years ago based on the Model 10 revolver in .38 spcl.
I know I was issued one.

Ok. I stand corrected. Nagant was the first....but not the only.
Seems the Knight Arms revolver uses an aluminum/plastic 'piston' that is loaded like a saboted 30 cal into a 44 cal case, while Nagant bored the chambers to make gas seals that were apart of the cylinder, later the cylinder its self moved forward and the case neck provided positive sealing.
Knight came up with a neat way around a complicated design to acomplish the same thing.....seems a fella with a lathe and some delrin plastic could rebarrel any revolver to do this while the same could not be said about the nagant.

I used to carry this appendix-carry, but the laser sometimes printed:

There are all sorts of suppressed revolvers.

During the war in Vietnam, the US made special ammunition for revolvers in which the bullet casing contained a piston that was kept captive after it propelled the bullet forward. The fired gases were not allowed to exit the casing, and the gun made very little noise. They were used by the men who went into the tunnels after NVAs, after using a conventional firearm proved pretty difficult. The Soviets also had similar cartridges. Short range option, but good enough in certain situations.
