Silhouette Air Pistol - 2 questions

Doing some research into this sport and wondering if anyone out there competes.
I would like to shoot Unlimited without going to the bank for a loan so I've been
considering a high-end production class pistol up to the Unlimited class around $600.
Any outstanding choices from experience?

Has anyone shot this event with a .177 pistol around 400 fps, Would it have enough energy to drop the ram at 18 yards?

Personally, I'd try to go as close to 495fps as possible.

Steyr made a nice one... but thanks to our silly-laws, it would have been restricted.
