The IHMSA days of the 1980's were the best.

Kind of like when Canada and the USA were great.

More fun and less BS.

Our range has high berms at each distance, but we have not had a silhouette shoot in ages, most guys I see rarely shoot offhand if at all.
There are only a few of us that shoot offhand even realize that the third berm is not 400 yards but 385 meters!
The steel we have hanging is very large as well, at 500 meters we have three, a 1.5MOA, a 2 MOA, and a huge 6MOA gong.:p

Just bought a set of 1/5 size to take to a local dirt trail fsr range of my choosing, way less hassle

There is a silhouette practice shoot every two weeks at Vernon range. It alternates between Saturdays and Sundays.

I've been a couple of times, I needed the practice as I suck at standing and shooting.

They use the official steel targets and set them up at 40 & 50 feet (its on the handgun range so there is a dirt backstop there).

Usually lasts around 3 hours and they're a pretty easy going bunch.
