Please excuse my poor knowledge on this topic but assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Question #1: If a casing has live primer in it, how do you remove it without exploding the primer?

Question #2: Can I put dirty cases that have live primers in the tumbler?

1. If you have cases with live primers the next step would be to load them, no?

2. Again you seem to putting the cart before the horse.

If you set primers before cleaning the brass, which is what it sounds like, I would just load and shoot them. Forget the cleaning.

1. Use WD40 to kill the primer.
2. No, the cleaning media would block inside that would cause ignition problem.

you don't need to have 100% clean brass everytime you reload, it sure looks better but not essential, now it all depends on what your primed brass looks like, from what I've learned

I'm interested in this question aswell. I have 3 cases that I primed before realizing that there was an issue in the resizing process. So far the answers are spray w/ WD-40 or shoot it. I dont have anything chambered in this caliber yet (its coming) so I can't shoot it. Any other options?

CAREFULLY use your depriming die and push the live primer out. if done right you can even save the $0.03 and reuse it.

First logical answer given so far. Wear safety goggles and slowly & carefully resize the case again, pushing the live primer out. I have done dozens of these with nary a mishap. Regards, Eagleye
 
Yep, I had to de-prime about 3 doz myself once. (Won't get into why..ahem:D)
Just gently press out the primer with the decapping tool.
 
Another option if you just need to resize the case. Remove the decapping pin from the sizing die then replace the sizing pin in the die and resize the case. This leaves the live primer in the case and ready to use. Wipe the lube off by hand and your good to go to load.
 
If you wd40 them, you may be safer, but cleaning the wd out properly before reloading them may be a bother. I have deprimed cases in the press occasionally and feel no fear now - wrap a towel around the press - or you could make a little shield out of an old glove if you worry.
 
I've decapped lots too. Never had one go off unintentionally. But the ear-plugs suggestion is a good one. If you do manage to make the primer go off, it's loud, I'm very glad my bladder was empty, it was way louder than I expected.
