Silly question about dovetails

Geez, if a fella only owns on caliper, it pretty much ought to sit on the kitchen counter with the rest of the everyday needs eh? :D

Only sorta joking, I figure I have about a half dozen or so digital calipers floating around, a couple dial calipers, and at least one actual vernier, and can usually put hands on one pretty quickly. If "old eyes" is a problem, Lee Valley will sell ya one with large print on it too.

Measuring is easy enough. So is wrecking something by rushing it. Might as well do it right slowly, as it's gonna take less time than redoing it, eh?

Cheers

I only have one digital caliper,a dn it's safely locked away in my reloading stuff. i have no real need for another, as I don't do any machining or real gunsmithing. Given that it's a factory dovetail by a major US manufacturer, I kinda figured it would be a standard dovetail. Anyhow, everything worked out A-OK. Now, I'm just waiting for the phoquing endless winter to end so I can go try my toy.
