Silly Question on Enfield Wood

Hi Guys,

I did some searching and can't seem to get a definitive answer: Will a stock set for a No4 MkI fit a No4 MkII?

Not without some work. The rear of the forestock on a Mk2 is cut out for the hung trigger. It also has different hardware there.

Not without a lot of work.

You would need to remove the reinforcing strap then fill in the holes drill the filled in stock for a cross bolt find the right bolt, and remove a small bit of wood so the trigger fits

You are more likely to trash it than get it to work.

^ that's kinda grim...I have done it, and it turned out very nice. Just have to remove a bit of wood from the stock, and cut the band. Then I used the two halves of the band, and a mkII stock screw to bridge the gap.
