my friends silver reserve has been breaking open after firing the top shell. anyone else have any similar issues?

I've not heard of that one but lots of other problems like triggers, and firing pins, I hate to say it but avoid these like the plague!!!

X2 A cheap O/U is just that. Cheap. Best off to look for a used Citori.

Huh. My Silver Reserve sporting model has been nothing but 100% reliable. Maybe I got a good one? Is there such a thing as Monday morning / Friday afternoon guns?

The few that I have seen break down where being used as trap/skeet guns, and not for "occasional" shooting, and they didn't stand up.
