I heard that Silver Willow Golf and Sporting Clays have temporarily closed their sporting clays facility. This has been confirmed by a notice on their web page and by the President of the Alberta Sporting Clays Association. The reason given is failure to obtain insurance or failure to obtain insurance at a viable rate that would allow the range facility part of the business. I have heard that there are two options being considered. One is looking for a more reasonable rate
and the other being dropping the clays and expanding the golf.

I think that this part of the world has enough golf courses and loosing this shooting facility would be a terrible blow to the shooting sports in this area.
