I recently tried skeet shooting 2x in the past week. The first time I was using a Pump (On the Blue course) and had so much fun that when a friend offered that I try his Semi, I couldn't say no. So we went out again, on the green course.

Both times I had a blast and now im addicted.

Thanks not only to my shooting buddies. But the facility as well

I was actually at Silver Willow to pick up some reloading components from Allan Day on Friday. I spoke with both Allan and Don, and had a very quick look at the facilities, and I will definitely be going down to shoot some sporting clays there.

If you see someone cussing the A bird on station 8 on the green course, come over and say Hi.

There have to be humility birds too.

Great club, great people. I love the fact I can go blast some clays by myself using a 3 second delay on the auto clay/card loader. Makes for a relaxing few hours!

Myself and a friend drove down to Silver Willow today, and shot both courses. I won't shoot the green course gain, but I will be making more trips down to shoot the blue course again in the future. I also purchased a new Wild Hare shooting vest from their pro shop, which has a great selection of shooting clothes. Not one broken target, and every thrower functioned perfectly, on both courses. We also talked with Don and some members of the staff, and both the personnel and facilities are first class. I was surprised at just how busy the facility was for a weekday morning.

...... I won't shoot the green course gain, ......

I get that the green is probably not up to your level of performance, but it has introduced thousands to the sport through corporate or group events and is perfect for starting kids or other new shooters. I like the mix of easy and challenging targets. (Guessing you didn't manage to be the first to run the course straight. ;) )

No question though that the blue course is awesome and keeps getting better.

We need some way of recognizing CGN members. It would have been nice to say Hi to someone who has offered so much good advice - in person.

Rob!

No doubt that the green course is excellent for newer shooters, or for people that don't shoot clays a lot. We saw several couples and families on the green course which was great to see. The green course was lined up, while the blue course was pretty much unoccupied. But given the choice of the two courses, I will simply shoot more targets on the blue course next time. It was also great that although we were provided extra targets to allow for breakage, not one target broke or failed to throw.

This Saturday - Sept 16th 2017 - is the Buster Day True Pair event at Silver Willow. 200 NSCA targets. It will be my first registered shoot. Plan A is HOA. Plan B is to not be dead last in E Class.

Just in case you still have some ammo left, Josh is putting on a non-registered fun shoot the next day. 140 targets - no whiners - bring your full and x-full chokes - you asked for it kind of shoot. Think I'll pass on that one.

FYI

Rob!
